A Homework folder will go home on Monday and should be returned on Friday

CURRICULUM AND EXPECTATIONS

Begins Monday 8/31

* Homework is not required but it is recommended.
 
* It is not graded and does not have to be turned in.  
      (Students that turn in Homework receive incentive tickets)

* It should be a no tears/no fear zone.
 
* Important for studying sight words  and reading.

Independent Study / Absent

Inspire your child to read for enjoyment with the Scholastic Book Orders

 
* VARIETY OF WAYS TO VOLUNTEER-

* WORK WITH THE STUDENTS IN A SMALL GROUP SETTING
  (CLEARANCE REQUIRED)

* WORK "BEHIND THE SCENES" ASSEMBLING BOOKS OR CRAFTS.
(CLEARANCE NOT REQUIRED)

* COME AT THE END OF THE DAY AND READ A BOOK TO THE CHILDREN    
  (CLEARANCE NOT REQUIRED).

* CHAPERONE ON FIELD TRIPS.  IN ORDER TO CHAPERONE A GROUP OF
   CHILDREN YOU WILL NEED TO FULFILL THE VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS,  
   FINGER PRINTING AND TB TEST.

* IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN COMING ON THE FIELD TRIP BUT ARE NOT A
  CLEARED VOLUNTEER YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME ALONG BUT YOU WILL  ONLY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR CHILD.
